Alfred Ashford may just be the oddest member of the Ashford family. Being extremely gifted like his twin sister, Alexia, he shows no compassion for anyone or anything that he feels is in his family's way. Alfred and Alexia were very close. There are even rumors that they were "too" close. This I do not believe. My theory about the Ashford twins is probably completely different from everyone else's. I believe that they loved each other very much and they worked together. They didn't argue about who was stronger or better. Alfred knew Alexia was in charge and he didn't mind, in fact he seemed to enjoy being a "worker ant" to his "queen". Alfred thought of Alexia as his real Queen, his one, and true mother. Alexia knew that Alfred was just about as useless as her father, Alexander was. But Alexia loved Alfred and knew that he had to stay around for her plan to work. Alfred knew his one purpose, and took it very seriously. If you're wondering what this one purpose is, well, Alexia had to go to sleep for 15 years so that she could become immune to the virus and use it as she pleased. Alfred's job was to keep her alive and make sure that the "unwashed" never saw her. Alfred also had the prison island to watch after. He had an agreement with one of the workers there. This certain worker had very odd plans for some of the prisoners on the island, and this pleased Alfred. Alfred let the man set up for his "plans" by building him a guillotine and other torture rooms. Alfred himself had made plans at one point to build a bridge, beautiful enough to befit the beautiful Alexia. This bridge would lead to Alfred and Alexia's private residence, and, of course, Alfred did not want anyone even knowing it was there. So, Alfred had some of the prisoners build it, and then he killed him, which was no problem for him. Alfred and Alexia were very young when they discovered the T-Veronica virus. Just think, Alexia went to sleep for 15 years. When she awoke, her and Alfred didn't look any older than 30. So, that means, Alexia and Alfred were about 15 years old when Alexia went to sleep. Alfred did not like this idea of not being able to talk to nor see his dear Alexia for 15 years, but he had to go along with it to make Alexia's plan work. With out any family around him, his father being now a huge monster tied down underground and in the Antarctic, and his dear twin sister, Alexia, asleep for the next 15 years, Alfred was forced to grow up alone. Any person all alone for that long would certainly make up imaginary friends, or, in Alfred's case, become a member of his family that he missed as an "alter ego". So, Alfred started to dress in his sister's clothes, and soon, Alexia became his alter ego. He talked to himself as Alexia, and dressed in her clothes and even spoke for her in Alexia's own voice. Alfred is a very untrusting person/character. He doesn't like nor trust anyone. After a woman named Claire Redfield broke into the Umbrella headquarters in Paris, she was caught and taken to the island prison. Soon after that, the island was attacked by an unknown organization. Alfred thought Claire had notified her "people" of the coordinates of the island and they were the ones that attacked. Alfred went mad with anger and pulled out all the stops on trying to kill Claire and her companion, another escapee from the prison, Steve Burnside. To no luck, he finally decided to set the self-destruct on the island and escape hoping that Claire and Steve would blow up with the island. Claire and Steve had managed to escape the island just in time on a transport plane. Alfred, knowing no defeat, set up a little obstacle on their plane. After Claire defeated this "cockroach", Alfred set their plane autopilot for the Antarctic Base, so he could surely defeat them there. After arriving in Antarctica, Alfred met up with Claire and Steve, and Steve shot him. Alfred managed to make it to where Alexia was sleeping so that he could see her, asleep one more time before he died. To his surprise, Alexia awoke, and he was reunited with his sister before he passed away.
